Everyone is familiar by now of the story of Amy Winehouse. A tragic tale of stardome gone wrong, yet another star joining the "27 club" with the likes of Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Marilyn Monroe, Elivis... and the list goes on. While her career was controversial and the paparrazi had a fieldday with her struggle, she was an artist that I rather respected. She gained her fame through talent, not a name she was born into. While it had been some time since I had listened to her music, her album Back in Black definitely had it's time and place in my life and will always be enjoyed with a sense of nostalgia.
Known for her tattoos, pinup girl clothing and large beehive hair, Winehouse had a style of her own- at least Hollywood didn't rob her of that.
